暗网禁区 is committed to providing support for students who are studying and living in Singapore without a parent. Our top priority is ensuring all students reside in safe and well-supported living conditions that promote academic success and well-being. We work closely with families to ensure that all students live in safe, supportive environments that promote their well-being, health and overall success.

Please note that students under 12 years old must live with a parent to enrol at 暗网禁区.

For students aged 12 and older who will not live with a parent, there are three main options for Guardianship. In all cases, parents must appoint a guardian who meets the criteria outlined below and ensure the school is informed. Completion of the Guardianship Agreement Form is required.

Living With Extended Family

A student living with their maternal or parental grandparents, blood relatives, or adult siblings over the age of 21 who are permanently residing in Singapore.

Boarding

Students above the age of 12 may choose to stay with our preferred boarding partner, Oldham Hall. For more details, please visit the website.

Homestay

This option is for students whose parents reside permanently out of Singapore. It may involve a paid guardian or a close family friend. Parents may select a guardian who offers professional guardianship services.

Homestays are arranged by agents or guardians themselves, with different locations, services, and arrangements. We encourage parents to visit several homestays before making a decision on where to place your child.

Parents Working Away from Singapore

For parents who spend more than 10% of the school year outside of Singapore, parents must assign a live-in guardian during their absence. Students should not be left alone or in the sole care of a domestic helper.

**We recognize that there are exceptional circumstances where your family situation does not fit clearly into these categories, please contact the Guardianship Team at guardianship@sais.edu.sg to discuss further.?

Guardian Criteria

Guardians must meet the following requirements:

• Be over 25 years of age.
  • 21 years of age if an immediate family member.
• Be a Singapore Citizen/Permanent Resident.
  • For immediate family members, Employment Pass and Long Term Visit Pass holders will be considered.
• Resides at the same address (legal domicile) as the student.
• Be able to communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written.
• Adhere to a limit of 6 live-in students under their care (from any school), with an additional cap of 6 boarding students.
• Must be willing to work in partnership with 暗网禁区 and comply with the school’s expectations.

We recommend families conduct background checks on guardians, to ensure there is no history of criminal records related to violence, or offenses against children and vulnerable adults.

Temporary Absence of Parents/Guardians

When parents or guardians are temporarily absent from Singapore. Please complete and submit an in-loco parentis form to the relevant divisional office to nominate an adult to whom parental responsibility will be delegated to.

For Prospective Families

Please indicate on your application form if your child will live without a parent in Singapore.

Complete and sign a Guardianship Agreement Form during the application and enrolment process.

At 暗网禁区, the safety and security of our students are our top priority. Therefore, we have implemented strict measures to ensure that all staff, students, parents, guardians, and helpers have the necessary identification to enter the campus and wear it at all times.

Security ID Cards

Parents, Guardians, and Helpers are required to have a family ID card. Every household is entitled to a maximum of 3 ID cards.

Students from Grades 5-12 are required to have a student ID card.

How to Apply

Please apply for your ID cards on . Family IDs will take up to 14 days to process and an email with collection details will be sent once ready.

For collection during orientation day, please submit your application by 24 July 2025.

Student IDs will be issued to the students for Grades 5-12 from the school office.

Photo Requirements

To apply for a 暗网禁区 ID card, you need to provide a digital passport-style photograph that meets the following criteria:

• In color, taken against a white background
• In JPG format
• Taken within the last 3 months
• Show the full face

Vehicle Access

All vehicles entering our campuses must be registered, and car decals must be displayed on the front windshield. Car decals can be applied on and an email with the collection details will be sent once ready.?

The Woodleigh campus is located at 1 Woodleigh Lane and entrance for cars including those wishing to park is via Gate 1.

By MRT

Woodleigh MRT is located on the North East Line. Take Exit B, walk straight and turn right on Woodleigh Lane.

Lorong Chuan MRT?is located on?Circle Line. Proceed to Exit B,?walk beside St Gabriel’s Primary School towards 1 Lorong Chuan. Turn right to 1 Lorong Chuan?and continue along to go to 3 Chuan Lane (towards Gate 4).

School Bus Transportation

暗网禁区 offers door to door bus transport services to both Woodleigh and ELV Campuses with local bus transport provider? – Woodlands Transport Solutions (WTS)

To guarantee your child’s seat on the bus from the first day, please take note of the following:

• Registration process is compulsory for all new riders
• There will be at least a 2-week processing time from the time of application

Woodlands Transport Solutions (WTS)

WTS Bus Fares are posted on . Fares are invoiced quarterly and are based on the distance to/from school. Please submit your WTS application for your child .

The application for bus service for the upcoming academic year is currently open. Please submit your WTS application by July 20, 2025 for bus service starting from the first day of school, August 13, 2025. Please note that for applications received after this date, transport service will commence from August 28, 2025.

Woodleigh to ELV Student Transfer Service?

The school is pleased to offer free Student Transfer Service for ELV-enrolled students aged 2 years and above living around the Stamford Woodleigh Campus and/or having siblings attending at the Woodleigh campus.

The service allows parents to put their child(ren) on a supervised bus service from the Woodleigh Campus to ELV at the beginning of the school day, and from ELV back to the Woodleigh Campus at the end of the school day. Child Safety Restraints will be provided by the ELV Transport Office.

Child Safety Restraints

With reference to 暗网禁区’s Transportation Policy for School Buses, students in Kindergarten 2 and below (all Early Learning Village students) are required to have a 暗网禁区 approved Child Safety Restraint (CSR) when taking any of our bus services.

They may be purchased online via or other CSR outlets. Parents may request to have their child’s CSR delivered directly to their residence or to the Early Learning Village Transport Office, if purchased from Taxi Baby.

The 暗网禁区 Nursing Department collaborates closely with the school administration to foster an environment that prioritizes optimal wellness and safety for all students. The Health Center offers personalized healthcare for students needing immediate attention, while also promoting health education and encouraging healthy lifestyles within the 暗网禁区 community.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Nursing Department

• To develop and implement emergency response plans for all children with moderate/ severe allergies and medical concerns
• To monitor students’ immunizations
• To act as a resource for faculty, parents and students
• To provide individual health counselling by servicing emotional and physical health needs, and to refer any appropriate professional community resources as needed
• To evaluate and monitor communicable diseases
• To work closely with the Ministry of Health to ensure standards of best practices
• To conduct health-related classroom instruction
• To provide educational and promotional activities for healthy lifestyles of our students and staff

When to Stay at Home

Deciding whether your child is too unwell for school can be challenging. We kindly requests that parents only send children to school if they are feeling fine and healthy. If you have concerns about your child’s health, we recommend consulting your physician or one of our school nurses.

During school hours, if a child becomes unwell, a nurse will assess their condition and provide necessary treatment. If a child is deemed too unwell to remain at school, the nurse will contact the parent or guardian to arrange for their prompt collection, as per school policy (within 1 hour).

Please keep your child at home if they are unwell and displaying any of the following symptoms:?

Fever

Defined as above 37.5C as per Singapore Ministry of Health, children may only return to school after being fever-free for 24 hours?without?the use of fever-reducing medications, such as Panadol or Neurofen.

Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD)

Usually characterized by fever, sore throat, ulcers in the mouth and throat, and a rash with small blisters (3mm – 7mm) on the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. Children must obtain a clearance letter from their medical doctor before they can return to school.

Vomiting and Diarrhea

Vomiting and diarrhea are often caused by viral or bacterial infections. Please consult a physician if your child appears dehydrated or exhibits these symptoms. Children may return to school 48 hours after their last episode of vomiting and/or diarrhea.

Flu-like Symptoms

Children who experience persistent coughing and sneezing should seek a physician’s consultation if there is no improvement, to rule out potential infectious diseases such as Mycoplasma.

Impetigo (School Sores)

This contagious skin disease is marked by spreading pustular lesions (sores filled with pus-like fluid) and requires medical treatment. While in school, all sores must be kept covered. Antibiotic therapy must be completed for 48 hours before students can return to school.

Head Lice

Head lice are tiny insects that cause severe itching of the scalp. Children with active head lice should refrain from attending school until they have been effectively treated at home. Upon their return, a nurse will verify that there are no remaining active head lice.

Conjunctivitis

Presents as itchy, red, and inflamed eyes with excessive discharge. Antibiotic treatment must be started before a student can attend school.

School uniforms are a mandatory requirement for all school students in Singapore. Students must arrive in their school uniforms on the first day of school.

Additional Requirements

• Shoes and Socks: Students can wear any closed-toe shoes (most students choose trainers) and socks in any color.
• Baseball Cap: The 暗网禁区 baseball caps are available for purchase from the (PTA online store). Any items purchased from the Lion’s Den will be sent home with the student once school commences. Students may wear a hat from home for their first week of school whilst waiting for delivery.

Pre-Nursery to Kindergarten 2 at the Early Learning Village

Lunch is provided for all-full day ELV students. Meals are delivered to the classroom, where students enjoy eating together in a family-style setting with their Teacher and Teaching Assistant.

Lunch options include a standard meal or a vegetarian option. Please inform your child’s class teacher of their meal preference. For any food allergies, please discuss these with the nursing team at elv.nurse@sais.edu.sg.

Please provide your child with a refillable water bottle labeled with your child’s name and homeroom class code.

Grade 1 to Grade 12 at the Woodleigh Campus

At the Woodleigh Campus, there are two cafes where students can buy food and beverages during recess and lunchtime. Students may either bring meals from home or purchase them from the on-campus food services provider, Sodexo.

Elementary students have the option to pre-order their food, while Secondary students are encouraged to buy directly from the cafe counters.

Students should also bring a water bottle labeled with their full name and homeroom/advisory class code.

Stamford Cafes

Sodexo is Stamford’s Food Services Provider. It is a leading catering provider to schools around the world with a mission aligning with the Stamford Food Philosophy of “Healthy Food, Healthy Kids and a Healthy Planet”.

The Early Learning Village has an Aspretto cafe for parents and teachers. In addition to refreshing and energizing Fairtrade beverage options, the cafe also serves scrumptious snacks and nourishing hot meals.

Here are a few things to note about 暗网禁区’s cafés at the Woodleigh Campus:

• Cashless Payment Systems: At 暗网禁区’s cafeterias, students may use the 暗网禁区 Student card for convenient, cashless payments. Parents can top up the payment account online via , or at the cash kiosks located in the campus cafeterias. It is recommended that parents add a minimum of S$20 for the first day of school.

• Semester Meal Plans: Semester meal plans are available as a pre-paid option for students in Grade 1 to Grade 5 only. Enrollment for Semester Meal Plan can be completed online via .

• Pre-Order Meals: Pre-order meals are available for students from Grade 1 to Grade 5. All orders must be placed by 8am on the day of the meal. Parents can choose meals, including beverages and snacks, for their Elementary students. For students in Grades 6 to 12, pre-ordering is not available, but the three food counters provide a high degree of flexibility in lunch choices.
