Visual Arts

The visual arts program at 暗网禁区 is one of many avenues for our students to express themselves. We firmly believe that especially in such a diverse international environment, visual art lets students communicate and visualize in powerful ways beyond their native languages. Every year, students showcase their creativity on campus through phenomenal and engaging art exhibitions.

Kindergarten 1 to Grade 5

Visual arts lessons in the Primary Years Program (PYP) curriculum are designed to foster creativity and self-discovery. Students are exposed to visual concepts through a hands-on approach to art and are prompted to respond to various aesthetics. Students learn alongside the Art Foundation Skills and explore various skills and techniques for art-making.

Grade 6 to Grade 10

The Middle Years Program (MYP) visual arts curriculum values the process of planning, creating and presenting art. Students are encouraged to work creatively by exploring new ideas and questioning the world around them using their critical thinking skills. Simultaneously, students will also be exposed to a wide range of mediums in order to build a diverse skill set including both technical and conceptual practices.

Grade 11 to Grade 12

Post-MYP students have a range of visual art opportunities to explore including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP), , and Stamford Art Foundation courses. Students have the opportunity to develop their theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and curatorial practice, as well as explore vocational practices in the art and design world. Each course allows students to explore their passions through a variety of specialisms, pursue their own creative and cultural interests, and develop critical perspectives in approaching and appreciating art. Through the practice of art investigation and creation, students will have the chance to build an art portfolio to showcase their learning for university applications.
